Nike: Year of the Rabbit

It's been ages since I blogged about kicks - in fact, I decided a while back that I wouldn't talk about kicks on my blog (I was trying to wean myself off). This time though, I couldn't help it (because I'm so China right now). Nike recently released Chinese Celebration packs called Year of the Rabbit (just in time for Chinese New Year, which falls in February) - which are available in AF1 and the Classic Tennis. The AF1, which I will always remember Emkay saying are just like heels because of their chunky sole, come in a red, white and blue white, varsity royal and crimson upper and a cute little furry swoosh. The Classic Tennis come in two colourways for men and women - metallic gold for men's (representing wealth) and red (representing prayer for good luck, according to High Snobiety)

This is Nike's 10th drop themed around the Chinese Lunar Years. If you know me, you know that I'm very China obsessed right now so I was excited about this release. The kicks will be sold exclusively in China at the following stores: Nike Beijing Store, Nike Sanlitun Store, Nike Beijing Oriental Plaza Store, Beijing Deal, Nike Shanghai Store, Shanghai Juice and Shanghai NPC.

The Year of the Rabbit

Apparently this is the year that we should listen to our intuition more. Also, good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force. A congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty. Sounds like the kind of year that I need right now!

Also check HypeBeast and High Snobiety for more pics that I didn't lift from them.
